Carnival time as BIC decks up in colours

The second day of 2019 Bahrain Grand Prix was nothing short of a mega carnival filled with unlimited entertainment as motorsport fans enjoyed the glitz and glamour of Formula One. A horde of performers encompassing different entertainment segments in colorful costumes and stilts induced excitement in children and adults alike. The roaming performers included the Circolo Stilt-Walkers, The Dans, Dr. Bubbles, Rainbow Ballet, Tri-Colour Walkabout, Circus Parade, the Batucada Timba Musicians, Steam Dancers, Men Alien, Walking Funfair, Rainbow Carnival and Steve and Tom Circus Entertainment.

‘’I love them! They are so colorful and it makes me very happy, I want to be like them,’’ said an excited five-year-old, Grace Noman. Fully equipped with major attractions of a carnival, the BIC visitors enjoyed thrilling rides, games, kids activity zone, an interactive F1 fan zone, “The Mummy ’s Tomb” Haunted House along with the first time appearance of a Ferris Wheel, a Star Flyer, and a Venetian Carousel.

The mammoth rides included the Ferris Wheel standing at a whopping 42 meters in height with 27 gondolas and the Star Flyer, which is 60 meters in height with16 gondolas, both providing the spectators with a scenic aerial view of the surrounding events. “Since the gates opened until the last person leaves the BIC, the lines would remain for the Giant Wheel and Star Flyer. People love this, it’s the view and excitement that draws their attention,” an attendant at the attraction stated.

F1 Fan zone is the central place where Formula 1 aims to break down the barriers between the sport and race enthusiasts. It offers a variety of engagement activities that are similar to what is experienced by drivers, team personnel, and others ‘involved in the world’s leading racing championship.
