Drug lord handed down 10 years imprisonment
The High Criminal Court has sentenced a Bahraini man to ten years in prison for peddling drugs. He was also fined BD5,000. Standing trial in the case was another Bahraini man, who was only handed down one year in prison for helping the police arrest the first defendant.
The court also dropped the drug selling charge against the second defendant. The second defendant was initially arrested after an undercover police officer lured him to sell hashish for BD100. But he told police officers that he was selling drugs at the behest of the first defendant, offering help to arrest him.
He was later arrested in a secret operation after the second defendant contacted him, requesting to buy drugs from him.
