Master’s course in Big Data Science launched
An innovative partnership between the University of Bahrain and the UK’s Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) has launched the country’s first Big Data Science Masters degree.
The programme will equip participants with state-of-the-art computer science skills to process huge amounts of data, as well as teaching them modern statistical analysis methods and how to create new data services.
Speaking to Tribune, UoB President Prof Riyad Hamzah, said: “Positioning itself as a technology hub, Bahrain has a vibrant startup FinTech (Financial Technology) scene, and many international companies are now seeking to use the country as a gateway to the considerable Middle East and North Africa market, having a population of 350 million.
