Thai woman held for bid to smuggle narcotic pills
A Thai woman, 24, allegedly attempted to smuggle drugs worth BD30,000 into the Kingdom, the court heard. She was arrested at the Bahrain International Circuit, hiding 162 narcotic pills in baby powder cans and vaseline jars.
According to prosecutors, she was nabbed after a customs officer became suspicious of her behavior.
He then X-rayed her luggage and found shabu pills hidden among them.
The seized pills were weighing 162 grams. “The pills were given to me by a fellow national, who heads a vice ring, which I am part of,” the 24-year-old woman told prosecutors.
