Disabled employees now have paid daily rest for two hours

Employees and workers with severe disabilities have been granted a two hour paid daily rest. The measure followed directives issued by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. First degree relatives in charge of people with severe disabilities are also entitled for the two-hour paid daily rest. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan had issued the Ministerial Edict 80 of 2018 setting the terms that regulate the twohour paid daily rest.

Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care and Rehabilitation Shaikha Aisha bint Ali Al Khalifa said that a string of meetings had been held with relevant authorities to co-ordinate the implementation of the ministerial edict. She announced the ministry will also hold meetings human resources specialists to update them about work procedures, clarify regulations or answer all queries.

The new measure will benefit Bahraini nationals, who should submit a medical report from a public hospital in the Kingdom with the application form.
