Asian men lose appeals in drug case
An Asian man convicted of selling and consuming drugs has had his appeal rejected by the High Appeals Court. He was sentenced to 10 years behind bars along with a second defendant, who received only one year in sentence after being found guilty of consuming drugs.
The second defendant was arrested after the police received a tip-off, according to prosecutors. “An undercover agent was assigned to arrest him red-handed. The officer in plain clothes reportedly lured him into selling drugs to him for BD150. And they met in Jidhafs as an anti-drug squad was watching the process.”
He was arrested while he was leaving the scene after giving the officer the drugs, the prosecutors added. However, he immediately revealed that he was buying the drugs from his co-defendant and offered to police officers his help to get him nabbed. Subsequently, the first defendant was arrested.
