Remains of expat buried, four months after death

More than four months after his death, the remains of an expatriate was buried at a church cemetery in Kottayam district in the Indian state of Kerala.

The bereaved family members and relatives of the deceased Saju Kurian, 55, could not even see his face for the final time as the semi-decayed embalmed body was not kept for viewing.

Kurian went missing from his accommodation in Riffa on October 11, 2018, and his body was found in Sakhir desert after a month.

Kurian was employed by Siam Group of Companies, which had filed a missing complaint with local police after his disappearance. Indian Embassy officials in the Kingdom and many social workers played an active role to fly back the body home.
