HRH Premier’s directive to offer overseas treatment to ailing Bahraini actress
Bahraini actress Sabreen Burshaid will be sent abroad for medical treatment, the Ministry of Health announced yesterday. It said that it had completed all procedures for offering overseas medical treatment to the patient, adding that the case was followed up by the Office of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister.
Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh extended thanks to HRH the Premier for supporting and following up personally all that concerns Bahraini citizens’ health. She said that she had directed officials in charge of overseas’ medical treatment committee to undertake necessary procedures to enable the patient to travel abroad.
Earlier, a petition to the Kingdom’s leadership was made by the actors’ fraternity to offer overseas treatment to the patient. This came after Ahmed Burshaid, father of Sabreen, posted a shocking picture of his daughter on a hospital bed, online, pleading for help. The distressed father revealed that his daughter suffers from three tumors in the head. The information was shocking to many of Sabreen’s fans and fellow actors and actresses.
The actress was also working as a TV show host. According to Mr. Burshaid, Sabreen was diagnosed with the disease while she was in Kuwait. “She had initially great difficulty in recognizing people, except her parents,” he said.
