Bahrain attends GCC health conference

The first Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Health Council was held under the patronage of Kuwaiti Health Minister Dr Shaikh Basel Al Sabah.  National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) Chief Executive Officer Dr Mariam Adhbi Al Jalahma attended the two day event, under the theme “GCC Sustainable Healthcare: Challenges an Future Trends”.

Addressing the conference, she stressed the importance for GCC private health facilities to comply with the good governance requirements to ensure quality and sustainable health services. She underlined   the results of the National Health Accreditation Programme, which was endorsed in the Kingdom, stressing the importance of the scheme in promoting good governance of medical teams’ performance.

The conference aims to build an informative and enriching information base by attracting specialists, scientists, researchers and institutions concerned with health care. It also seeks to highlight the importance of comprehensive health coverage in line with the development responsibilities of health bodies to move forward in achieving the global goals and objectives of sustainable development.
