His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issues a Royal Order to reinstate citizenships

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a Royal Order to reinstate the citizenships of 551 convicts who received sentences of citizenship revocation, as per Article 24 bis of Law No. 58 of 2006 on the protection of the society against terrorist acts.
 
The Royal Order comes as a continuation of the stipulation of the aforementioned Article, mentioning that the judgment shall not come into force without the approval of HM the King. 
HM the King has issued the Royal Directives to the concerned authorities to execute the criminal verdicts, and in order to continue the necessary procedures to execute the punishment of revocation of citizenship, an assessment of the situations of the convicts sentenced to the revocation of citizenship, and that the study and assessment should be conducted based on standards related to the gravity of the committed crime and its effects and consequences, as well as the extent of the danger of each convict and the impact of that their danger on national security.
 
HM, the King assigned the Minister of Interior to study the court verdicts revoking the nationality of convicts and to prepare and publish the lists of the beneficiaries.
