Salmabad Farmers’ Market a big success
Scores including citizens and expatriates have been visiting the farmers’ market in Salmabad, where local agricultural produce is being showcased.
The 18,875-square meter market also has on display organic farm products from across the GCC. The market has 22 stalls for vegetables, 10 for plants and flowers, six for firms trading organic products, seven for various food products and four eateries.
Speaking to Tribune, market supervisor Mohammed Nasser said the event offers a unique opportunity for local and GCC farmers to showcase their produce. “This is being set up with the support of Bahrain Development Bank. Farmers are offered electricity, water and storage facilities here.
