Spotlight on Bahrain-France bilateral ties

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in France yesterday at an invitation by French President Emmanuel Macron. Both leaders will hold discussions on bilateral relations and ways of bolstering them as well as the latest regional and international developments.

HM, the King was welcomed on arrival by senior French officials, the Bahraini Ambassador to France and the embassy staff. “At the outset, we would like to express our sincere thanks to President Emmanuel Macron for his kind invitation to us to visit this friendly country that has a long history, distinguished human and cultural heritage, a rich culture and abundant diversity and for which my own country has love, appreciation, and respect as well as pride in its strong relations with its friendly people,” His Majesty said. “The French people are among the most distinguished people with a high taste and a spirit of creativity, tolerance, love and coexistence. Such advanced traits and values are among the most important characteristics shared by our two countries.

“We are very proud of the deep strategic relations with the French Republic and we are keen to make these ties stronger. Our relations are constantly evolving, increasing year after year, representing a distinctive example of bilateral ties in all fields that could be emulated. “They are based on mutual respect, cooperation, and common interests and built on a common history politically, economically and culturally, which strengthens our confidence and our aspiration for further cooperation to keep our relations prosper at various levels.”
