The Court also ordered them to pay fines varying from BD100 to BD3,000. According to court files, the men were arrested from an apartment in Juffair following a raid by Anti-Narcotics Department in the Interior Ministry. The squad also seized undisclosed quantities of methamphetamine, a drug that’s commonly known as Shabu, sensitive scales and money from the apartment belonging to one of the suspects. Urine and blood tests of the trio indicated the presence of Shabu and Hashish.

The first suspect confessed during interrogation that he frequently bought large quantities of Shabu from a GCC national. A significant portion of these drugs, the suspect said, was then resold to his Russian girlfriend, her friends, a couple of Bahrainis and his friends.

The man also confessed that he had been selling drugs for the past five months. The Public Prosecution accused the first defendant of possessing and selling narcotics, while the second and third defendants were charged with drugs abuse and possession.
