Bahrain condemns ‘acts of sabotage’ against commercial ships in UAE
Bahrain yesterday strongly condemned the “acts of sabotage” which targeted commercial and civilian vessels near the territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates in the Gulf of Oman, east of Fujairah. The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, denounced the criminal act saying, the acts are “aimed at threatening the security and stability of marine navigation.”
The ministry statement also affirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates “in all the measures it takes to preserve its security and safeguard its interests.”
The statement also urged the international community to assume its responsibility. “Four commercial, civilian trading vessels of various nationalities this morning suffered acts of sabotage” off the UAE’s eastern coast, the UAE foreign ministry said in a statement.
