United against terrorism
The Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (AlHurr) yesterday affirmed that the Union and all its affiliates would stand behind HM the King’s leadership for safeguarding the nation. Praising His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s keynote speech at the Joint Cabinet-Supreme Defence Council (SDC), Al-Hurr called on all Bahraini citizens to stand united behind HM the King’s leadership, in light of the difficult circumstances.
In his keynote speech earlier, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa warned that Bahrain will “firmly address” all attempts to incite sedition, division in the society or acts that are inconsistent with the national interests. Bahrain has the capabilities to “confront risks to its security, stability and its people,” said HM the King praising the readiness of the Bahrain Defence Force and security agencies.
HM the King assured that the situation in “Bahrain is stable, the growth rate is promising and optimistic and people’s needs would be met under any circumstances.”This came as HM the King chaired a joint meeting of the Cabinet and the Supreme Defence Council to discuss the latest regional and international developments at the Sakhir Palace. The meeting was held in the presence of HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
HM the King stressed Bahrain’s strong condemnation of the terrorist drone attacks on oil pumping stations in Saudi Arabia and the sabotage operations that targeted commercial vessels near the territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates. His Majesty underlined Bahrain’s firm support to the two brotherly countries, backing any measures they take to maintain their security and stability. HM the King also praised full commitment to patriotic stances that rejected exploiting religious platforms for disseminating extremism, supporting terrorism, sowing division and sedition.
King Hamad welcomed the national achievements made during the first session of the fifth legislative term of the Parliament, thanks to the cooperation accomplished between the legislative and executive branches. Concerning Bahrain’s Arab and international relations, HM the King underscored the Kingdom’s keenness to boost its ties and broaden cooperation with Arab and friendly countries.
Separately, in another statement, Shura Council yesterday reiterated Bahrain’s unflinching and full solidarity stance in supporting the two brotherly countries to confront terrorism and sabotage. The Council expressed Bahrain’s support to all the measures they take to protect their sovereignty and prevent the threat of terrorism. The Council also took pride in Bahrain’s advanced cooperation with both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates which continue to grow in various sectors.
