Gurgaon gifts thrill young patients

Children in the pediatric ward of Salmaniya Medical Complex got the surprise of their lives when they were showered with gifts yesterday. His Excellency Agus Salim Bin Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia to Bahrain, and his spouse Norsyazwani Hamdan delighted the kids with gifts as part of Gurgaon celebrations, yesterday.

“Gurgaon is a time for children to celebrate and receive gifts. We thought of the unfortunate children who are admitted and cannot celebrate. We decided to distribute these gifts to cheer them up,” Agus Salim Bin Yusof told Tribune.

The visit forms part of several activities lined up by the Malaysian Embassy in the Kingdom to celebrate the 45 years of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Malaysia this year. “This program with the children of the pediatric ward is the first activity to kick start the celebrations,” revealed Agus Salim Bin Yusof.

“As of now, we don’t have a set itinerary. We have fashion shows, cooking demonstrations, sports activities, etc lined up. The activities involve other embassies and members of foreign affairs,” added Agus Salim Bin Yusof.

A joint celebration of the 45 years of bilateral relations between the two countries and the Malaysian National Day will possibly take place during the third quarter of 2019.
