Car theft: Police arrest suspect after chase

Police yesterday arrested a man, 38, in cooperation with the Najad “Rescue” Police for stealing a car. The man also injured three police officer when security personnel tried to stop him, said the Director-General of Northern Governorate. The suspect later crashed the vehicle into other parked vehicles. Incidents leading to the arrest occurred, when police received a tip-off regarding a car theft in progress.

Police officers located the car soon and tried to stop him. However, the man didn’t stop and tried to drive away. Losing control, in the process, the suspect then crashed the vehicle into several cars parked on the wayside.

Three police officers were injured in the incident which also resulted in damaging three patrol cars and three civilian vehicles. Legal proceedings are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecutor.
