Man held for smuggling drugs hidden in body cavity
A passenger went on trial after he was accused of smuggling drugs through Bahrain International Airport in condoms hidden in his body cavity. The man, an Asian national, also admitted that he was a gay, the High Criminal Court heard. Customs officials got suspicious after spotting the man, who was “walking abnormally”.
“There was something wrong with him, we felt he was hiding something,” one of the customs officials who arrested him told prosecutors. “We found him hiding a condom in his rectum,” he added. The suspect admitted to consuming drugs and confessed to having homosexual feelings, besides being HIV positive.
The suspect, court files said, was attracting buyers through social media. The man confessed to having sex with customers before selling drugs to them. “I was doing that for BD20- BD30 each,” the suspect told prosecutors. “I decided to get drugs from my country, as it was hard to find it from Bahrain.”
