DNA lands man in trouble over refusing paternity

A man who refused to have fathered two girls landed in trouble after a DNA test proved that he was the legitimate father. The man, holding a Bahraini nationality, also denied his marriage to the girls’ mother, an African by nationality. According to the court records, the man tied the knot with the woman in 2006.

They also have two girls of nine and two years of age. The Court ordered the man to take a DNA test after accepting a video documenting his marriage in the Shariat Court as evidence. The man, however, claimed before that court that it was his birthday party. Public Prosecution accused the man of abandoning his wife and kids, which also resulted in the nine-year-old girl to skip school unable to afford fees.
