Saudi’s role crucial in fighting extremism
Saudi Arabia has always been and will remain as the bulwark of all Muslims, said Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs, Dr. Farid bin Yaqoob Al Meftah, yesterday.
Dr. Al Meftah was speaking in the Muslim World League (MWL) conference in Makkah held under the auspices of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Addressing the conference, Dr. Al Meftah asserted that the conference underlines the pioneering role of Saudi Arabia in serving Arab and Islamic issues and coordinating stances to deter threats to the Arabian Gulf.
He commending the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia in fostering moderation and openness by fighting the extremist ideology which has tarnished Islam and Muslims. Calling the conference as a historical meeting of scholars and intellectuals, he stressed that the Document of Makkah which will become an approach for promoting moderation.
