Maintain rigorous control over public funds: Premier
Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday called for maintaining rigorous control over public funds to check government’s expenditures and expenses.
This, the Premier said, should be done in cooperation with the auditing agencies in harmony with the role of the National Audit Office (NAO). HRH the Premier cited the continual directives to all the ministries to achieve maximum cooperation with the auditing institutions especially the NAO.
HRH the Premier was receiving Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the National Audit Office. HRH emphasised that Shaikh Ahmed has expertise and efficiency in dealing with financial and auditing matters, wishing him success in his new role.
The Premier recalled efforts of the former president of the Financial Audit Office, Hassan bin Khalifa Al Jalahma, in developing the office’s performance. Shaikh Ahmed expressed deep gratitude to PM for his directives to boost cooperation with the NAO. He stressed close cooperation with the executive branch in serving the national interests.
