Holy Quran contestants to be honoured
The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs will organise an honouring ceremony for “ambassadors of the Holy Quran” under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The celebration will be held as part of Laylat-al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) programme on Friday evening at Ahmed Al-Fateh Islamic Centre Mosque to honour Bahraini reciters who won and participated in international competitions.
A total of 70 reciters will be honoured in the ceremony, including nine female who represented Bahrain in 22 international competitions in 16 countries. Bahraini representatives have participated in 212 competitions and clinched 80 advanced places.
