Missing girl found
A 16-year-old girl went missing Wednesday night from a popular shopping mall in East Riffa has been found safe. Interior Ministry, on its official Twitter account, confirmed that the missing “Arab girl, 16, was found safe yesterday morning. Identified as Shahad, the Arab national was reported missing by her family members on Wednesday.
Police initiated a search soon after a missing person report was filed at a police station in Riffa. Shahad’s relatives told investigators they saw her last at around 9 pm. The family also issued an appeal to the public to report any information they have about the girl to the concerned authorities.
Simultaneously, a message seeking help along with the girl’s photo was posted on social media by the family. The message said: “She just finished her final intermediate school (ninth grade) exams.” “Relevant procedures are being taken,” the Interior Minister tweet said quoting Southern Governorate Police Directorate after finding the girl.
