King calls for joint action

Firm stances are required to end the threats posed by Iran-backed terrorist groups in the region, said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. HM, the King was speaking during the extraordinary Arab summits held at Al Safa Palace in Makkah along sides leaders and heads of delegations from around the world.

Citing the recent attacks in the region, HM the King warned the conference that state-sponsored terrorism has become a major threat not only to the region but also to the whole world. “This represents a challenge that is rejected by the international community,” said His Majesty citing the global condemnation of the grave violations committed by terrorist groups in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The attacks, King Hamad pointed out, were intended to endanger the safety of navigation and international energy corridors in the Arabian Gulf.

“This has pushed the region to the brink of dangerous tension and instability.” In this regard, HM the King said Bahrain affirms its unwavering support to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in all measures to protect security and stability. “We stand with them against all desperate attempts to disrupt the development and prosperity in the two countries.” To deal with such threats, HM the King said, there is a need to strengthening cooperation and solidarity between countries.

“This strengthens our fraternal relations as well as achieve an integrated vision and comprehensive strategy that sustains Arab national security.” “We must continue our efforts to strengthen regional and international security in cooperation, coordination and joint action with our allies and friends,” HM the King stressed reminding such efforts would take the region towards further development and prosperity
