Falah clinches back to-back titles in The Godfathers Tournament
Bahrain national team star Yousef Falah was crowned overall champion of the 2019 edition of The Godfathers Tournament, which came to a thrilling close Friday night at Funland Centre. Falah clinched back-toback titles after defeating fellow-Bahraini Isa Khalid and American AJ Edwards in the final.
All three earned the right to face off in the championship-decider after winning their respective groups. They then played one game, with the highest scorer emerging as the tournament victor. Falah made the most of the opportunity and lived up to his tag as favourite, posting a 247 score, while Khalid had a 222 outing and Edwards a 198.
Following the final, the winners were presented their respective trophies and prize money in a ceremony attended by Funland owner and managing director Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and Funland general manager Adel Rasti.
Rasti later expressed his sincere appreciation to Shaikh Mohammed for supporting the event and attending the awards presentation. He also congratulated Falah and the other leading bowlers on their success in competition, and he thanked all those who participated for the excellent turnout throughout the qualifiers.
The Godfathers Tournament was held in memory of the late MurtadhaQudratRasti and the late Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. A total of BD4,400 in prize money was distributed amongst top 18 overall and other achievers.
