Bahrain condemns attack in Tripoli
Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday condemned the terrorist attack that targeted army and internal security personnel posts in Tripoli, the Lebanese Republic, which resulted in the death and injury of several officers. The Ministry, in its statement, affirmed the solidarity of Bahrain with the brotherly Lebanese Republic.
The Ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured speedy recovery. The ministry reiterated the position of Bahrain that rejects all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism, and calls for concerted international efforts to end this scourge and dry its sources of funding.
State media reports said a lone gunman killed four members of Lebanon’s security forces in the city of Tripoli on Monday night before blowing himself up. Two police officers and two soldiers died after the man fired at a bank, a police station and an army vehicle.
