Bahrain, Thailand boost ties

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to enhance bilateral trade relations with Thailand. The Prime Minister, receiving Thai Foreign Minister, Don Pramudwinai at his residence, underlined Bahrain’s interest in enhancing political cooperation, developing economic, trade and diplomatic relations and encouraging investments with Asian countries, including Thailand.

“Bahraini-Thai relations have become a role model, as they are based on mutual respect, as well as common understanding of various issues and challenges,” HRH Premier told Pramudwinai. Expressing pride in the accelerated steps made to bolster Bahraini-Thai cooperation, HRH the Premier said this crowns the keenness of the two countries’ governments to continue constructive cooperation. HRH Premier reviewed with the Thai Foreign Minister ways to enhance the Bahraini-Thai relations in various fields, in addition to issues of common interest.

The Thai minister welcomed HRH the Prime Minister’s to Thailand, stressing the importance of opening up new horizons of communication and coordination between the two friendly countries. Pramudwinai lauded the creative economic initiatives and policies adopted by Bahrain, under the leadership of HRH the Prime Minister, citing the keenness of Thailand to pave the way for foreign companies to consolidate their participation in the active Bahraini investment scene.

The Thai foreign minister highlighted HRH Premier’s successful policies to enhance Bahraini-Asian and GCCAsian rapprochement, which, he said, “will reflect positively on the future development and economic aspects.” Pramudwinai expressed his country’s appreciation of the efforts exerted by the Prime Minister to strengthen the Bahraini-Thai relation, hailing the Premier’s contributions to establishing exemplary relations between the two friendly countries.

The two sides stressed the depth and strength of relations between the two kingdoms at all levels. They also affirmed the two countries’ keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, to achieve common interests. HRH the Prime Minister appreciated the role played by the Thai expatriate community in Bahrain in supporting the development march in various sectors, affirming that they enjoy all kinds of care and interest from the government.

The Prime Minister extended congratulations to his Thai counterpart, Prayuth Chan-o-cha, on his re-election by the Parliament to his post for a second term, wishing him every success.
