Annual fee to be imposed on home-based businesses
Bahrain Municipal Councils are planning to impose an annual fee upon home-based enterprises in Bahrain.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the levy is to affect nearly eight thousand domestic enterprises existing across the Kingdom.
Eligible enterprises to receive license after meeting the requirements defined by the relevant government entities.
Among the requirements, safety and security of the establishment and its employees is of utmost priority considering the mishaps that have occurred as well as continuous complaints from the public with regard to lack of hygiene, poor quality and pricing.
Sources have predicted an annual fee not exceeding BD 100 and the launch of awareness campaigns to ensure the safety and awareness of the establishments.
