EWA Minister visits site of transformer damaged by fire
Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza visited the site of a power transmission transformer in Riffa, where there was a minor fire in the wee hours of yesterday. The minor fire was controlled by officials of the Civil Defence in co-operation the Department of Industrial Security of the Electricity and Water Authority.
Dr. Mirza spoke of the need to speed up repair work on the transformer and restore electricity supply to normal as soon as possible. He said they would ensure such incidents are not repeated. Dr. Mirza thanked the Civil Defence authorities that responded quickly to extinguish the fire and save lives and property.
