Three stores busted for selling counterfeit products

Three stores have been held accountable by the Comprehensive Inspection Center at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Tourism for selling counterfeit versions of renowned international shampoo and care brands.

The names and location of the stores have not been disclosed by the authorities.

The ministry stated that all the legal procedures in force in this regard were taken against the stores’ owners and the products were confiscated and destroyed in accordance with Law No 6 of 2014.

These illicit activities were revealed due to the efforts of Ministry’s inspection campaign that have swept through the Kingdom with the objective of verifying and ensuring the application of laws and legislation for business and to reduce violators and violations committed to ensuring a competitive and sustainable environment in the Bahraini market.

The Ministry encourages all members of the society to bring forward any such violations to the attention of the authorities for relevant legal procedures to be undertaken.
