BMSA presents event plans in BOC meeting

A set of plans and programmes of the Bahrain Maritime Sports Association (BMSA) were presented at a meeting with representatives of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) in Seef area.

The meeting, one of several gatherings involving officials from the national sports associations and the committee is aimed to promote cooperation and coordination to ensure smooth conduct of financial, administrative and technical proceedings.

BOC technical manager Lounes Madene was briefed on the remaining activities of the associations in 2015, as well as a complete programme of events in 2016 that includes overseas competitions and the proposed financial support.

He added the committee will do its most to harness all its abilities to ensure smooth and effective running of the association programmes, and build on their previous successes.

BMSA technical manager Kassem Ben Jemia said he was pleased with the overall results of the Bahrain teams in the most recent events – the GCC Championship and the GCC Beach Games.

He noted that the association looks to organise a series of domestic competitions in an attempt to attract as more sailors as possible. 

Ben Jemia also highlighted a number of obstacles of the association in the near future.
