Baghdad blast condemned
The Kingdom yesterday strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a mosque in the city of Baghdad, Republic of Iraq, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of people.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry extended its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished those injured from this heinous terrorist act speedy recovery. The ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s solidarity with the brotherly Republic of Iraq against terrorism and expressed its support for its efforts in maintaining security and stability.
It also stressed the Kingdom’s unequivocal position that rejects all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism, calling for concerted efforts to eradicate this dangerous scourge and all those supporting or funding it. A bomb blast killed seven people at a Shi’ite Muslim mosque in eastern Baghdad yesterday and wounded more than 20, police sources said.
