Justice Minister to honour charity project participants
A ceremony will be held on Sunday in honour of the participants in a project to help inmates pay off their debts. Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa will patronise the event at the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute (JLSI) headquarters.
The project was launched by the Zakat and Charities Fund.
The Directorate of Religious Affairs said that the participants who will be honoured include companies, banks, columnists, local newspapers, artists and social media activists.
The ceremony is in recognition of their sustained contribution to the success of the campaign which extends a helping hand to indebted inmates. The directorate stressed the crucial importance of Zakat, a pillar of Islam which achieves social solidarity and cohesion.
