OIC plans global guide on tolerance
The Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) will launch the first global encyclopaedia on tolerance to “highlight the true noble Islam to the world, and fight Islamophobia and extremism.”
“This project is the first of its kind. It originated from the OIC’s belief in the promotion of true and pure Islam,” Dr Youssef bin Ahmed Al Othaimeen, OIC secretary-general, told the first meeting of the encyclopaedia’s advisory committee at the secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.
The encyclopaedia will include verses from the Qur’an and the Prophet’s biography, in addition to publications and digital materials.
