Fostering entrepreneurs ‘one of the main goals of BDB’
Supporting and fostering entrepreneurs is an integral part of Bahrain Development Bank’s (BDB) plans, the bank’s Chief Executive Sanjeev Paul has assured. He said this while speaking at a seminar titled ‘BDB- The Entrepreneurs’ Bank’ yesterday at the Capital Club Bahrain.
The seminar was organized by the Bahrain India Society. The bank, through its various initiatives such as the Seed Fuel-Rowad Programme, hopes to fuel entrepreneurial spirit and innovation in the Kingdom by supporting promising and innovative startups. During his talk, he detailed the various initiatives by BDB to support the entrepreneurs. He also praised Tamkeen’s role in supporting entrepreneurs.
“During all my years in many countries, I am yet to come across an institution developed by a country that works like Tamkeen. “I think it is an extremely benevolent institution that has no parallel anywhere else in the world,” he said while praising Tamkeen. He also praised Bahrain’s other initiatives such as the Al Waha Fund of Funds to support entrepreneurs.
