Hotline to report summer outdoor work ban breach
The Labour and Social Development Ministry has allocated a toll-free hotline (32265727) to receive reports of any violations of Edict 3/2013 that bans outdoor work between noon and 04:00 during the months of July and August.
Edict 3/2013 aims to safeguard workers’ health, ensure their safety against heat exhaustion and sunstroke as well as prevent summer-related diseases and to reduce occupational incidents in view of the increasing temperatures, the Labour Ministry said in a statement issued.
The two-month summer work ban began on July 1 as per the order issued by the Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan.
The ministry regulation bans direct sun-exposed labor activities between midday and 4 pm effective until August 31.
