Health Ministry teams discover hygiene violations at restaurants
Many hygiene violations were discovered by the Ministry of Health teams, who carried out surprise inspections at many restaurants across the capital city.
The inspections targeted restaurants in the ‘Old Manama’ area and Al Jawhara Market. “All violating restaurants were served notices. We are not in a position now to reveal the total number of violations,” municipal officials said.
The teams from the Public Health Directorate, which comes under the Health Ministry, carried out the inspections in co-operation with Manama Municipality.
“The move comes as part of the municipality’s aim to ensure that all restaurants comply with health and safety standards,” a municipality source said.
