Strengthening bilateral ties

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Romania, Viorica Dăncilă received here yesterday, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, during his official visit to Romania.  She expressed her pride in the friendly relations between the two countries and their keenness to enhance these relations, especially those in the economic, investment and culture fields. 

She also noted the just, effective and moderate policy of the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, praising the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve stability and prosperity.  She pointed out that her country views the Kingdom as an important partner in the Middle East, and that there are broad prospects for joint co-operation, both bilateral and multilateral. She further expressed her appreciation for the results of the political consultations held between the two countries. 

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla stressed that the Kingdom is keen on enhancing its relations with the Republic of Romania as well as developing joint co-operation at all levels. He also expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister of Romania on her keenness to hold the meeting. 

The Undersecretary for International Affairs pointed out that the visions of the two countries on various regional and international issues are identical and call for the establishment of peace. He also praised in this regard the contributions made by Romania during its presidency of the European Union during the first half of this year.

He also praised the efforts of the Prime Minister of Romania in the field of women rights, stressing that the Kingdom, following the reforms of His Majesty the King, has established the role of women in society, highlighting that the Speaker of the Council of Representatives is a woman.

He also pointed out to the important role played by the Supreme Council for Women, under its President, Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, to enhance women’s advancement in various fields.
