Foreigners held for violating rules

Thirteen foreign workers were arrested for violating residency regulations by practicing commercial activities without licences, the Southern Governorate’s Security Liaison Officer, Major Fahad Ali Khalifa announced yesterday.
The arrest was made as part of the Southern Governorate tie-up with the Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and Southern Municipality.
He said the suspects were nabbed as the NPRA carried an inspection campaign on August 25 that covered blocks, 914, 927, 925 and 917. He hailed the law enforcement efforts by concerned authorities.
He called upon the public in the district to follow residency and labour rules and report violators to the concerned authorities in the Interior Ministry or the governorate.
