Bahraini women strides stressed

Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia Zainal, has stressed that Bahraini women’s effective and positive presence in the economic, investment and commercial fields is the fruitful outcome of the comprehensive reform approach spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and is consistent with the National Plan to Integrate Women’s Needs, as well as the sustainable development goals.

She said that the Bahraini women’s economic advancement is in line with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, noting that their successes and contributions to the investment and business fields, and support for the national economy are added-value to Bahrain’s progress, in light of the active role and distinguished initiatives carried out by women economic functions. The Speaker lauded the role played by the Supreme Council (SVW), led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and SCW President, in Bahraini women’s economic advancement.

This came as she received the Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society (BBS) President, Ahlam Janahi, and board members. The speaker reiterated the Representatives Council’s support for all initiatives and projects that would contribute to advancing Bahraini women economically.

She also highlighted the Council’s interest in developing the Kingdom’s economic and investment fields. She also praised the key and effective role played by BBS in the Kingdom’s economic field, noting that it represents a large sector of businesswomen who are, she said, among the main pillars of business in Bahrain, and support the Kingdom’s plans to achieve fiscal balance and the goals of comprehensive development.

BBS chief expressed pride in the Representatives Council’s support for the economic field in the Kingdom, and keenness to develop the legal and legislative systems that would contribute to advancing Bahraini women. She stressed that the legislative support would lead to bringing about more gains and achievements for the best interests of the Kingdom.
