Training programme ‘Rights’ concludes
The curtain fell on second phase of the third edition of the programme themed “Rights”. The Bahrain Institute for Political Development organised the scheme in co-operation with the Supreme Council for Women, the National Institution of Human Rights and the Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies.
The programme, scheduled to run until September 2019, targets Government employees and the affiliated civil society institutions. Four workshops were scheduled as part of the second phase of the programmes, delivered by SCE Legal Advisor Dr Mohammed Walid Al Masri, University of Bahrain (UoB) College of Law Assistant Professor Dr Abduljabbar Ahmed Al Tayyeb, NIHR Legal Affairs Department Chief Mohammed Ahmed Al Najjar and Council of Representatives Legal Advisor Dr Mustapha Saleheddine Abdulsamea Helal.
The programme aims to enhance citizens’ awareness regarding the parliamentary culture, legislative institutions and civil society organisations, focusing on the role of the legislative branch of government in public life, the separations between branches of government as stipulated in the constitution and other key issues.
