Man climbs Bahrain Embassy in London, held
An individual was arrested yesterday for trespassing into Bahrain Embassy premises in London. He climbed onto the roof of the embassy building in a clear violation of law. Police were called by the embassy officials and subsequently the offender was arrested and taken to the Westminster Police Station. The same individual was arrested and convicted for the same offence in 2012, Bahrain News Agency reported yesterday
The individual trespassed onto the roof of the embassy in support of known members of terrorist organisations, it is learnt. The Individual was threatening to jump off the roof and embassy staff stepped in to restrain him for his own safety until the police arrived. Diplomatic premises are protected under both international and the United Kingdom Laws, and this individual’s actions clearly go far beyond any legitimate peaceful protest, the report said.
Earlier, many supporters of terror organisations, who staged a protest in front of the embassy, were accused of blocking visitors to the embassy as well as bothering passers-by. The embassy had also asked the British Government to keep the protesters under control. Many parliamentarians then observed that such protests should be termed as acts of ‘road terrorism’.
