BRCS ambulance to serve Bahraini pilgrims during Hajj
The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) is catering to pilgrims during Hajj for the consecutive fifteenth year by providing an equipped ambulance with a paramedic and a driver. Dr Fawzi Amin, General Secretary of BRCS, paid tribute to directives of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, chairman of the society, to provide needed emergency services for Bahraini pilgrims, assuring society’s keenness to harness its capabilities to implement chairman’s directives. “We are honoured to co-ordinate with the Ministry of Health in providing emergency services for Bahraini pilgrims, proving our ability to take this great responsibility for 14 years now,” said Dr Amin.
Moreover, he pointed out the key role played by the BRCS to support government’s efforts, within the framework of society’s objectives to provide aid and relief. Dr Amin confirmed that BRCS volunteers and staff have been deployed on ground to serve Bahraini pilgrims, highlighting that the staff is ready to evacuate cases that require immediate medical intervention.
He pointed out that the ambulance provided by BRCS is fully equipped according to the standards of the Ministry of Health in Bahrain, with a driver and a paramedic to work relentlessly to ensure pilgrims have access to different types of services while performing religious rites. He also thanked the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), which donated the ambulance to the society.
For his part, Director General of BRCS Mubarak Al Hadi stressed the keenness of BRCS to pay more efforts in providing the best medical aid for pilgrims and develop their services. Mr Al Hadi reiterated the society’s commitment to co-operate with Bahraini Medical Mission to take all medical preparations for this pilgrimage season in order to respond to urgent cases without any delay.
The participation of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society in providing ambulance to serve pilgrims is part of society’s key role to respond effectively and quickly to any case, in which the essence of relief and humanitarian work is saving lives, thus providing emergency services, awareness-raising and first-aid training is one of the cornerstones of the Bahrain Red Crescent, the BRCS said in a statement issued yesterday.
