Egyptian teacher passes away on school campus

Manama

----

An Egyptian teacher died due to heart attack on the first day of school. Alaa Radhwan was a mathematics teacher at Omar bin Al Khattab Elementary and Intermediate Boys’ School in Muharraq.

“The mishap occurred on Sunday, about an hour after the end of the first day of classes at the school. He was immediately taken to the nearby King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH), where he was declared dead in the afternoon,” sources informed.

The deceased’s colleagues said he returned from Egypt, where he had spent summer holidays, around 10 days ago.

Prayers of the dead were offered at Kanoo Mosque in Muharraq on Monday evening. A delegation from Muharraq Municipal Council, headed by the Chairman Mohammed Al Sinan, visited the school on Monday to offer condolence to the school’s Principal Abdulrahman Eid.

In a telephone conversation yesterday, Al Sinan told DT News that the deceased’s body would be flown to Egypt to be laid to rest in his hometown Fayoum.

No details about the deceased’s family were available.
