Bizman acquitted of forging medical docu

Manama

---

A Bahraini businessman accused of forging a medical certificate for his younger brother to deprive him of their father’s inheritance was found not guilty. The High Criminal Court has cited lack of sufficient evidence while delivering the acquittal verdict. The ruling read that the 53-year-old defendant had no links with the rigged document.

The plaintiff, aged 50, told prosecutors earlier that there was a bad blood between them, and the defendant wanted to pocket their father’s cash and assets.

Thus, according to the plaintiff, the defendant submitted a medical document stating that his brother was suffering from schizophrenia so he could seize full control over the inheritance. It was said that the victim was suffering from this illness but he has fully recovered from it following an eight-year-long treatment.

The plaintiff stated that his brother had submitted a medical report issued in 1992 confirming that he was suffering from schizophrenia to the court in order to deny him the inheritance.

It’s worth to note that the father was the one to file a lawsuit against the plaintiff to deny him his inheritance. But the latter claimed that his brother supported the case by providing the medical report, which was false. But the court ruled that the case filed by the father doesn’t override the scope of the defendant’s interests.
