Bahrain’s anti-human trafficking strides stressed
Under the patronage of Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science marked the World Day against Trafficking in Persons with a celebration attended by representative of the National Anti-human Trafficking Committee, the Public Prosecution and officers. The Chief asserted that the Kingdom will continue to remain a leader when it comes to fighting the trafficking in persons.
The Kingdom has consistently topped globally in a report that assessed steps taken by the countries to tackle human trafficking. The milestone was a result of law enforcement efforts and the promotion of human rights. He said that international recognition had strengthened the global position of Bahrain and its pioneer role in fighting this crime. He highlighted the dedication of the Interior Ministry to fight human trafficking in co-operation with concerned authorities.
The Chief hailed the directives of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and dedication to providing all forms of support to protect the national security and fighting crimes to achieve the comprehensive security. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the employees of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, including the Directorate of Anti-human Trafficking and the Protection of Public Morals for their sincere efforts in dealing with cases.
The Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science thanked the Chief for his ongoing support in fighting crimes in general and human trafficking cases. He said that human trafficking was considered as a major world challenge that needs joint efforts to keep Bahrain free from crimes. An expert from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Mustafa Onial, hailed the close cooperation with the Kingdom, highlighting the dedication of the office to reinforce coordination through further training course. The celebration included a movie about the human trafficking combating achievements of the Interior Ministry.
