KHUH, MoI announce deal

The King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) have signed a deal to provide MoI employees with the first batch of equipment for early detection of colon cancer. Commander of the KHUH, Major-General Dr Shaikh Salman bin Ateyatallah Al Khalifa, and Public Security Chief, Major-General, Tariq bin Hassan Al-Hassan signed the deal. Under the agreement, the KHUH will provide 500 samples to be used for the MoI’s affiliates.

The KHUH commander said KHUH’s management will launch the second phase covering citizens across the governorates. Major-General Al-Hassan said that the agreement is part of the on-going cooperation that covers many fields including the National Ambulance Project.

The National Campaign for Early Detection of Colon Cancer launched in June by the King Hamad University Hospital in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and in partnership with the National Committee for Control of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases targets about 75,000 citizens aged between 45 and 75.
