Civil Service Council suspends seven BTEA employees

The Civil Service Council yesterday suspended seven Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) employees for failing to comply with the regulations set by the council. The decision follows a review by the investigation committee led by the Minister of Interior, His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

Earlier, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Civil Service Council, has ordered the Council to investigate a letter signed by employees at the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) and circulated online.

The council in its statement on BNA said the authority will verify the “intent of the defamation and identify any administrative irregularities or violations that do not comply with the regulations and provisions of the law.” The Civil Service Council also instructed the formation of disciplinary committees following the provisions of the Kingdom’s Civil Service Law.
