Premier’s initiative ‘placed Bahrain among great nations’
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday received a cable of congratulations from the President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Professor Riyad Y Hamzah, on the UN’s declaration of April 5 of each year as an “International Day of Conscience”, in response to an initiative launched by HRH Premier earlier this year. Prof Hamzah extended to HRH the Prime Minister, on behalf of UoB’s affiliates, heartfelt congratulations on the UN adoption of the Premier’s initiative.
The UoB president stressed that the international achievement adds to HRH Premier’s rich record of landmark contributions and initiatives, both at the national and international levels, noting that the Prime Minister’s wisdom and far-sighted vision have contributed to placing Bahrain among influential countries in the UN. He stressed that HRH Premier’s initiative will restore true humanitarian principles and make clear conscience a compass that guides mankind on the right path.
Prof Hamzah said that UoB will mark the International Day of Conscience every year, wishing HRH Premier abundant health and happiness. HRH the Premier also received a cable of congratulations from the President of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH), General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. The SCH president extended to HRH Premier deepest congratulations on the adoption of his initiative by the UN to motivate the International Community to resolve conflicts peacefully.
He stressed that the UN declaration is a new global achievement for the kingdom, of which everyone in Bahrain should be proud. UN Resident Coordinator Amin Sharqawi hailed the initiative of HRH the Premier, which, he said, reflects his far-sighted vision that advocates correlation between peace and development. He hailed the UN declaration, which reflects HRH the Premier’s firm belief in the importance of peace, security and stability to achieve development worldwide.
