Asian gets prison for selling alcohol
An Asian man took advantage of his cold store to sell liquor bottles, it was revealed. He landed in police net following a secret operation, which saw another Asian man participating. According to Prosecutors, the accused would hide liquor bottles in the cold store and sold them to a group of selected customers.
A quick search in his shop uncovered 52 bottles as well as different currency bills worth BD18. During the interrogation, the accused confessed to selling alcohol to some members of Asian community in the Kingdom. “An Asian man gave me a ring and ordered five bottles.
He came to collect them and as soon as I handed over bottles to him, I was arrested,” the accused told Prosecutors. The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with selling liquors without permission. He was tried before the Lower Criminal Court, which sentenced him to three months behind bars and ordered for him to be deported once he serves his jail time. The High Appeals Court also upheld both punishments.
